in praise of the anemone

There is something about the Anemone flower that is bewitching. Perhaps it’s “eye-like” center with dark pupils.. so commanding! It’s hard to just gaze over these flowers in arrangement and not stop and consider them for a moment. Given too, the rarity of finding such a “darkness” naturally occur in a flower… rather mysterious.

The word “Anemone” translates to “Daughter of the Wind”, which is pretty dreamy itself, and the flowers are a member of the ranunculus family.
